Looking north on Hastings Ave. at 20th Street. This intersection was previously the primary access point to U.S. 61 for the various local businesses before the recent highway construction. Several have been forced to close due to access issues. Notice the closed gas station on the right.

Another view from the service drive, showing brand new concrete pavement on the future ramp to eastbound I-494. The service drive here was recently constructed as part of the project to provide access to downtown Newport from Bailey Road.

Looking west from Hastings Avenue, just south of Bailey Road towards the old Wakota Bridge, now gone. Its replacement can be seen under construction on the right.

Another view of the 494 interchange.

One final view of the 494 interchange from the hill near the intersection of Bailey Road with Hastings Avenue. Notice the new westbound lanes and bridge over U.S. 61, not yet open pending the completion of the new bridge, and the incomplete ramp from westbound 494 to southbound U.S. 61.
