Previous Year (1946) << 1947 >> Next Year (1948)

  • Size: 38" x 32" unfolded, 4" x 9" folded.
  • Scale: 1 inch = 12 miles
  • Conditions as of: May 1, 1947
  • Commissioner of Highways: M.J. Hoffmann.

  • The 1947 map was virtually identical to the map issued in 1946, both front and back.
  • This map is notable for the Native American depicted on the cover. The back cover bears the following legend: "Minnesota Centennial 1949 - Marking Our Century of Progress from Indian Trails to Modern Highways". The Department of Highways was apparently so anxious for the centennial that they jumped the gun by two years!
